Yogajothi Hanshi P.A Titus Perera was born on August of 1952, in Negombo and resides in his father's home town at Kandana. His interest on Karate began around the year 1968 and started his Karate training in Sheikan Karate style, under Soke Sugathadasa Waidyarathne in year 1972. Young Titus Perera obtained his black belt 1st Dan in 1975, followed by his black belt in 2nd Dan on the year 1978. After the demise of Soke Sugathadasa Waidyarathne on 1979, Mr Titus Perera, continued to bring a new perspective, establishing a good name of the association, island widealong with four other black belt colleagues.
During the year 1988, Mr. Titus Perera joined the Sri Lankan Karate Do federation . Followed by his keen interest to master Japan Karate, he started learning Japan Karate do Hayashi Ha Shitoryu, under grand Master Soke Teruo Hayashi, in Japan |

Karate, he started learning Japan Karate do Hayashi Ha Shitoryu, under grand Master Soke Teruo Hayashi, in Japan on the year 1990. Under grand master's guidance he obtained his black belt 3rd Dan and black belt 4th Dan in the year 1990 and 1993 respectively and then black belt 5th Dan in 1995, along with the title of 'Shihan'.
In 1997, Shihan Titus Perera won a silver medal in the veteran, Kata, event of the Hayashi Ha world Karate Championship held in Florida - America. Meanwhile he achieved his black belt 6th Dan on the year 2001. He was capable of winning the gold medal in the veteran, Kata, event of Hayashi Ha world Karate Championship held in Malaysia on the year 2004. Grand Master Soke Teruo Hayashi passed away. Shihan Titus Perera completed his black belt 7th Dan on the 2011 under The World Hayashi Ha Technical Committee followed by the black belt 8th Dan on 2016. Yogajothi Hanshi P.A Titus Perera currently holds the position as an Asia Pacific director and the Chief of South Asia. |
